Our History

Burn the Kingdom is a self-described Death Groove band emerging from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia. Forged in 2024, the band was founded by Nick and Ricky following their departure from a former Sunshine Coast death metal project that had become creatively stagnant and internally fractured. Rather than compromise, they burned it down and started again.

What followed was not a reinvention, but a declaration of war.

Driven by a blunt, uncompromising worldview, Burn the Kingdom channels raw aggression, social disgust, and open hostility toward organised religion, government authority, and modern complacency. Their music is unapologetically heavy, built on crushing grooves, serrated riffs, and vocals that spit venom with intent. The band does not posture or preach subtly. Their message is loud, confrontational, and deliberately uncomfortable, exploring intense adult themes with zero concern for mass approval.

Throughout 2024, Nick and Ricky focused on writing and refining the core identity of Burn the Kingdom, shaping a sound that balanced brutality with infectious groove and memorability. Once the foundation was set, Beau and Rob were recruited, completing the lineup and turning a concept into a weapon. By early 2025, the band had locked in their sound, image, and attitude, and began building momentum across the Queensland heavy scene.

Burn the Kingdom made their explosive live debut in mid-2025, opening for Total Buzzkill at The Presynct in Nambour. The performance immediately set the tone for what audiences could expect. Wild, chaotic live shows. Relentless energy. Violent mosh pits. No breaks. No apologies. Their performances thrive on controlled chaos, feeding off crowd aggression and turning venues into pressure cookers of sweat, noise, and movement. This is not background music. This is impact.

Since that first show, Burn the Kingdom has relentlessly taken their sound on the road, tearing through audiences from Brisbane to Bundaberg and quickly earning a reputation as a must-see live act. Their rise culminated in a Battle of the Bands victory in late 2025, cementing their position as a serious force within the local heavy music circuit.

The band is set to release their debut single “Vermin” in February 2026, the first taste of their upcoming EP scheduled for release later in 2026. The record promises the same hostility, groove-driven brutality, and confrontational themes that have already made their live shows notorious.

Burn the Kingdom is not here to fit in, soften edges, or chase trends. They are here to dominate stages, alienate the comfortable, and carve out their own place in Australia’s heavy music underground.
